Over the weekend Sackets Harbor gardeners will open their backyards to the public for an exclusive look into their landscaped gardens.
Seven local gardens will be featured on Saturday, July 28th from 9 a.m. to Noon. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event. For $10 a guided tour will be provided, followed by food, beverages and a raffle at the end of the event.
A special stop on the tour will be at the Tin Pan Galley. Owner Andy Hanzlian will open his backyard garden, located behind the restaurant, where he specializes in growing edible plants that he uses in many of his signature dishes.
Hanzlian says it’s a love for gardening, fresh produce, herbs and art that inspired him to create his garden. The landscaping alone is enough to capture the eyes attention, but when looked at closer many of the plants are used in his dishes to create a beautiful plating and taste.
