Page Fitness competes for economic boost through grant competition

Page Fitness Athletic Center is kicking up social media presence as they compete for a grant through a ‘Mission Small Business’ grant.

Recently owners Chris and Jessica Page located the chance to win a $250,000 grant from Chase and Living Social. The two say that the grant money will be integral to expand their continuously growing services to many residents of the North Country looking to better their health and wellness.

“The biggest thing limiting our club right now is space limitations,” said club owner Chris Page. “We need to open up our space and make some modifications to what we have and that costs money. The programs we need require more space, so in order to bring on more programs we need more space.”

Through the grant the Page’s want to increase not only their space and programming, but also increase their staff. Mr. Page says that they should be able to hire at least four to eight new employees.

“Starting with professional trainers, obviously all the trainers here have college degrees in training and then national certifications,” said Mr. Page. “Then we also need more front counter staff, we need more people who greet people at the door. We could put in another two to three the first year. So I think that job creation is a huge stimulous in this package right now.”

Within the matter of a week Page Fitness received 126 of the 250 votes required to be included in the grant competition. Once the club receives those 250 votes then they will be reviewed by a committee for acceptance.

The Page’s say that the goal of the club is to “help people get healthy and fit, lose weight and inches, reduce their cholesterol and blood pressure, and change their lives.” They say that by providing their clients with wellness and health solutions through comprehensive and integrated programs they are reaching that goal, and that is why this grant is so important.

The Page’s are asking that North Country residents help them win the grant by voting via social media site Facebook. To vote for Page Fitness CLICK HERE and follow the instructions.
