Fort Drum USO gets a little help from their friends to Stuff-A-Trunk

4.26.2012 <br> Mrs. Clark told MyABC50.com that in the month of March the USO provided meals and services to over 8,000 military members and their families, and that is why events like Stuff-A-Truck allow for the USO to continue their mission...

The USO on Fort Drum is getting a bit of help from their friends at Sam’s Club in Watertown.

On Saturday, May 6th at Sam’s Club, located on Arsenal Street in Watertown, the USO will hold ‘Stuff-A-Trunk.’

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., where shoppers of Sam’s Club will have the opportunity to donate to the volunteer run organization, ensuring that members of the 10th Mountain Division and their families have their ‘home away from home’ that the USO works to provide each day.

Karen Clark, executive director for the USO, says that when she approached Sam’s Club about the event they jumped right on board. Sam’s Club has agreed to mark items that the USO is in need of and assist customers with their donations throughout the day.

Mrs. Clark told MyABC50.com that in the month of March the USO provided meals and services to over 8,000 military members and their families. As this number continues to grow each month, the USO requires additional donations to continuously be able to provide a home-like atmosphere for the Fort Drum community.
