Live Right Now: Heart Saver Class

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a combination of rescue breathing and chest compressions delivered to victims thought to be in cardiac arrest.

When cardiac arrest occurs, the heart stops pumping blood.  CPR can support a small amount of blood flow to the heart and brain to “buy time” until normal heart function is restored, according to the National Heart Association.

This week on Live Right Now Tonya Duerr, Registered Nurse with Carthage Area Hospital, will be previewing the Heart Saver Class that is offered at the hospital.

Each week Live Right Now, brought to you by Carthage Area Hospital health experts, will outline a new health topic and discuss how to maintain your health.
