The BBB says it’s a scam and it could cost you quite a bit of money.
The scam gets computers to send thousands of calls to phones that ring once - then disconnect.
When you call that number back - you are charged nearly $20 for an International Call - then another $9 per minute.
The BBB says the following area codes are associated with the scam:
Dominican Republic (809)
British Virgin Islands (284)
You are urged to check your wireless bills carefully and inform your carrier immediately if you spot any unauthorized charges.
