Watertown City Council members want an investigation into 'Gun incident' at the Public Safety Building

Watertown (WTNY) -- The Watertown City Council is calling for a full investigation after a gun incident that occurred Monday at the Metro Jefferson Public Safety Building.

According to reports, a gun accidentally went off in an area of the building Monday afternoon.

The gun reportedly belonged to a member of the Watertown Police Department.

No injuries were reported and only minor damage occurred.

Officials are still trying to determine what exactly happened. City Police Chief Gary Comins was not in the building at the time.
