Peggy Coe

The Coe Family moved to Watertown in the early 1970's and immediately became active parts of the community. Peggy put her academic training, a BS in physics from Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts, to work. She was a leader in several local initiatives including founding the Jefferson County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), serving as its first president in 1977; The creation of the Victims Assistance Center; the expansion of The Sci-Tech Center of Northern New York (and was the first paid director). During her time at these organizations she brought Girl Scouts to our area, as well as, Sister to Sister.
