Car Accident; Mom drunk and on drugs injures 5 kids

According to Police, Michielle Andujar told them she had taken Xanax, Zoloft, and Adderall, in addition to drinking alcohol before the accident.
Auburn (WSYR-TV) – An Auburn woman was drunk and on drugs when she crossed a center line and plowed into a parked SUV in a crash that injured five children in her vehicle, according to police.

In addition, they say her passenger, who was also allegedly drunk, avoided injury because she had a child – who was injured – in her lap during the accident. Police say the child cushioned the impact.

Police say 28-year-old Michielle Andujar was driving east on Wall Street in the city of Auburn when she crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the SUV. The force of the impact drove the vehicle backward into another parked car, according to police.

They say both Andujar’s vehicle and the parked SUV sustained significant damage and five children – including three of her own children – were injured.

Her passenger, 30-year-old Stephanie Chetney, had two children in the car. Police say a child in her lap was injured, but Chetney avoided injury because the child cushioned the blow.

None of the children’s injuries were life threatening, according to police, but that one child suffered a broken arm.

Andujar was also injured in the accident.

According to Police, Andujar told them she had taken Xanax, Zoloft, and Adderall, in addition to drinking alcohol before the accident.

She was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of DWI, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, along with multiple traffic violations.

Chetney was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of disorderly conduct.

The children were referred to protective services, according to police.
