12-year-old Fannie Miller and 6-year-old Delila Miller are back with their family, St. Lawrence County District Attorney Mary Rain said, telling ABC News the two "seem to be healthy," but were "cold and wet."
The DA says the girls were dropped off in Richville.
Rain said that the girls walked to a home. The man who lives there recognized them from media reports.
The two girls asked that man to take them home according to Rain.
Rain said authorities are still looking for the people who dropped off the girls.
The girls were last seen in the St. Lawrence County town of Oswegatchie at their vegetable stand along State Hwy. 812/Mount Alone Road around about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
State Police said the two girls went to their roadside stand to wait on a customer.
A witness saw a passenger in car throw something in the back, then get in the back seat. The car left and the girls were gone.
The Sheriff's Office said the witness is a neighbor who says he saw what he believed to be a white, four-door sedan.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the search that lasted overnight and through the day Thursday.
