Disgraced ex-judge in West Carthage can stay on in fire department

He's a now-disgraced ex-judge who was just released from jail, but he can remain a volunteer fire fighter.

Delmar House was forced to resign from the bench as West Carthage Village Justice after admitting to granting favorable rulings to certain defendants in exchange for sex.

House pleaded guilty, paid a fine and was sent to jail as a part of his sentence.

Village lawmakers also called for House to step away from his role within the West Carthage Fire Department. But after a contentious board meeting this week, officials decided to resind that request, which will allow House to stay on in the department.
