Minimum Wage in Seattle To Be Raised to $15 an Hour

- Seattle (WSYR-TV) – The City of Seattle has approved a measure to make its minimum wage the highest in the US.

Washington State already has the nation’s highest state minimum wage at $9.32 an hour.

In the city of Seattle minimum wage workers will soon make $15 an hour.

The increase will be phased in over the course of several years.

The first increase is scheduled for April 1, 2015 when the minimum wage will become $10 an hour for some business and $11 for others.

Currently, the Federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour.
