Numbers down for tourist attractions along Thousand Islands region

After a soggy few months, and record flooding, it comes as no surprise that numbers were down for a major tourist attraction this past summer.

In fact, Boldt Castle along the St. Lawrence River was down 17 percent for 2017 compared to 2016 numbers.

Interestingly, though, officials told the Watertown Daily Times that this past season ranks as the ninth-best year since 1977. Meaning that the Castle and other on-site attractions were busy when they were accessible.

In total, just over 193,200 people visited Boldt Castle and the Yacht House on Heart Island.
