Police: Two Vermont men arrested after driving to meet 17-year-old male in Jefferson County

Two Vermont men are behind bars this morning, accused of trying to pick up an underage boy in Jefferson County.


According to State Police, 58-year-old Mark Cuppernell and 46-year-old Anthony Allen were headed from Vermont to Depauville to meet up with a 17-year-old male, but investigators intercepted their vehicle at the intersection of State Route 12 and County Route 179.
 
Cuppernell and Allen allegedly had "illicit communiciation" through text and social media with the teen prior to their taking the trip.
 
They both are held on $20,000 bail after being charged with use of a child in a sexual performance, first-degree disseminating indecent material, and endangering the welfare of a child.
