Reports: Legendary entertainer Mickey Rooney dies at 93

- (WSYR-TV) – Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney died on Sunday, according to multiple media reports.

He was 93 years old.

Rooney, born as Joe Yule Jr., made his first film appearance in 1926 and shot to stardom during childhood when he portrayed Andy Hardy in 20 films.

He was the first teenager to be nominated for an Oscar in 1940 for his role in “Strike Up the Band.”

Rooney and Elizabeth Taylor starred in "National Velvet" - which helped launched her career.

He also starred with Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Rooney received many awards, including a Juvenile Academy Award, an Honorary Academy Award, two Golden Globes and an Emmy Award.
