Two of five people accused of murdering a Jefferson County man were in court Wednesday

Two of the five people charged in the murder of Tyler Johnson were in court Wednesday night.

Extradited from Virginia, 20-year-old Taylor Beckstead and 22-year-old Devin Hunter Davis were both arraigned in Pamelia Town Court.

The two, along with 26-year-old Jamaal Carr, 25-year-old Sammy Brown and 26-year-old Shawn Moore Jr. have all been charged with second-degree murder.

According to the Times, Carr and Brown burst into Johnson's town of Pamelia home with intent to rob, but instead confronted and then shot him in the neck.

The Times reports that Beckstead, who is a former Watertown resident, and Davis knew of the plan to rob Johnson and knew Carr and Brown were armed.

Moore, who also used to live in Watertown, is expected to be brought back from Florida within the next few weeks.

Police say all suspects tied to the murder have been arrested, but the investigation is still ongoing.
