An Adams man has been arrested after he burglarized and sold several pieces of jewelry to a local pawn shop.
State Police in Watertown have arrested Richard J. Stevens II, 24, of 65 Spring Street, for one count of Burglary in the 2nd, a class C Felony.
Stevens allegedly stole several pieces of gold jewelry from the victim, Karl Shelmidine, on April 17th at his home in Adams. Stevens then took the jewelry to the Immediate Cash for Gold Kiosk at the Salmon Run Mall, in Watertown, where he pawned the jewelry for $280.
All items have been recovered by the New York State Police.
Stevens was arraigned in the Town of Adams Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building. He is being held on $1,000 bail pending Grand Jury action.
