Brrrrrr! Temperatures below freezing possible tonight

Clear skies with light winds will allow temperatures to drop into the lower 30's overnight tonight, especially inland away from Lake Ontario.
(WWTI/WSYR)-- Chilly, breezy conditions continue for the beginning of the work week as stubborn cold air refuses to leave the region.

As a result, a spotty mix of rain and snow over the Tug Hill will end by midday. Cold temperatures will continue overnight, so a Freeze Warning is in effect for areas in our refion, and we may even break record lows.

High pressure will build over the Great Lakes tonight and this will bring clearing skies and light winds, allowing temperatures to fall to, or just below, freezing inland away from Lake Ontario. Unprotected sensitive vegetation may become damaged or killed as a result.

Tuesday we will begin to transition back to slightly warmer air, and more seasonable conditions return Wednesday with a threat for a shower or thunderstorm.

Today: Mostly Cloudy. Lake Effect rain showers this morning, then a chance of rain showers this afternoon. Windy with a threat of a shower or thunderstorm.

Tonight: Clear skies, breezy and cold with lows in the lower 30's

Tuesday: Sunny and cool with highs in the mid 50's

Temperatures will slowly warm back up as we head into the 2nd half of the week with high temperatures returning to the lo 70's
