'Cuse Gets First Look At Midway

The Orange practiced on the retired aircraft carrier in preparation for the "Battle On The Midway" scheduled for Sunday, November 11, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
(SU ATHLETICS) - Syracuse got its first look at the USS Midway as a basketball court during a mid-day work out in San Diego. The Orange practiced on the retired aircraft carrier in preparation for the "Battle On The Midway" scheduled for Sunday, November 11, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

The skies were sunny and clear but the wind was a factor when SU practiced on Saturday. The Orange ran through drills for almost 90 minutes to get a feel for conditions on the Midway.

It is the season opener for #9 Syracuse and #20 San Diego State. The game features veteran coaches Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and San Diego State's Steve Fisher. Both court bosses have guided clubs to NCAA Championship games -- Boeheim at Syracuse, his alma mater, and Fisher at Michigan.
