Evans Mills Fire Dept. Chief arrested on sex charges

Nathan Lehman (WTNY)-The arrest stems from a two month long investigation where it's alleged that Shawn Rutmanis had sexual relations with a teen during a seven month period when the the teen was 15 and 16 years old.
Evans Mills (WTNY) --The chief of the Evans Mills Fire Department has been arrested on charges that he had sexual contact with a teenager.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department arrested 42 year old Shawn Rutmanis of Philadelphia. The arrest stems from a two month long investigation where it's alleged that Rutmanis had sexual relations with a teen during a seven month period when the the teen was 15 and 16 years old. He is charged with criminal sexual act in the first and third degrees as well as third degree sexual abuse.

Rutmanis is currently free on $500 cash bail/$1000 bond and is awaiting grand jury proceedings. The DA's office initially recommended $30,000 cash bail and $60,000 bond, but Philadelphia Town Court Justice Jessie Schemer reduced that amount.
