First Annual Maple City Arts Festival in Ogdensburg seeking area artists and authors

4.18.2012 <br> “The Maple City Arts Festival will look to showcase the tremendous pool of artistic talent not only here in Ogdensburg but the surrounding area,” said Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Director Matthew J. Curatolo.

The Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce, is seeking artists to participate in the first annual Maple City Arts Festival.

The festival will take place on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Richard G. Lockwood Civic Center, located at 141 West River Street in Ogdensburg.

“The Maple City Arts Festival will look to showcase the tremendous pool of artistic talent not only here in Ogdensburg but the surrounding area,” said Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Director Matthew J. Curatolo. “We are looking for all types of artists- painters, photographers and authors.”

Mr. Curatolo told MyABC50.com that there is not currently a venue where artists are able to connect with one another. He hopes that by holding the Maple City Arts Festival area artists will be able to meet one another and share their stories and inspirations.

Booths are available for each artist to display, feature and sell their works. A $30 registration fee is required for the Maple City Arts Festival. Interested artists can fill out the applicationform and send that to the Parks and Recreation Department, 100 Riverside Ave., Ogdensburg, NY 13669. The deadline for applications is May 18th.
