Hermon woman files false report against ex-boyfriend; arrested on felony Criminal Contempt

5.08.2012 <br> After conducting interviews of witnesses, sheriff’s deputies learned that Barney was the aggressor in the case, and that there was an order of protection against her in favor of the ex-boyfriend.

A Hermon woman is facing a felony charge of Criminal Contempt after filing a false report that her ex-boyfriend had attacked her at Zorro’s Bar.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jacinda L. Barney, 31, of Hermon, after the false report was made on May 4th stating that her ex-boyfriend had attacked her at the bar. Barney is charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st, a felony, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing, a misdemeanor.

After conducting interviews of witnesses, sheriff’s deputies learned that Barney was the aggressor in the case, and that there was an order of protection against her in favor of the ex-boyfriend.

Barney was arraigned in the Town of Hermon Court and released.

A new order of protection was issued for the ex-boyfriend.
