37-year-old Kevin M. Bunke was arrested by deputies for huffing paint after they responded to a 911 hang-up call on Douglas Street in Port Leyden. According to deputies, they heard someone yelling in a hallway of the apartment building and upon investigation found Bunke standing in the hall. He was allegedly holding plastic bag filled with silver paint, a can of silver paint in his hand, and his face covered in paint.
Bunke appeared to be intoxicated, according to deputies, and continued to yell in their presence. He was issued an appearance ticket for Village of Port Leyden Court.
In 2004, Bunke was injured after escaping from officers who had picked him up for inhalation of toxic substances. Bunke fled to his apartment in Croghan and, when confronted there, attempted to evade authorities by climbing onto the roof and jumping 30 feet to the ground.
