Watertown (WTNY) -- The race for Watertown City Council this year will turn another corner today.
It's primary day in New York State. Here in the City of Watertown, voters will go to the polls to narrow the field down among the six candidates for two seats on the council. Voters will choose up to two candidates among the field of six.
The top four candidates will then compete for the two seats in the November general election. The candidates are Jasmine Borreggine, Cody Horbacz, Rod LaFave, Steve Jennings, and the two incumbents Jeff Smith and Teresa Macaluso.
Elections here in the city are non partisan, so everyone registered to vote within the city can vote in the primary.
Polls are open from noon to 9 pm.
