Two Rome men arrested in Lewis County on drug possession charges

Two men who were in Lewis County were arrested after police discovered an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped the vehicle on State Route 26 for having an inadequate exhaust. Upon speaking with the driver, Timothy L. Slenker, 21, of 126 N. Cresent Street in Rome, deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle located three smoking devices and a small amount of marijuana.

Slenker and his passenger 18-year-old Adam C. Cameron, of North George Street in Rome, were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Both will return to the Town of Turn Court at a later date.
