Days of heavy heavy rain have flooded low lying areas in Lewis County, leaving debris and water on roadways, causing hazardous driving conditions.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory for all of Lewis County until further notice.

The following roads are currently closed:

Town of Martinsburgh
  • East Martinsburgh
  • Blue Street

Town of Denmark

  • Ridge Road
  • Merz Road
  • Zecher Road

Town of West Turin

  • Smith Road

Town of Lyonsdale

  • Moose River Road
  • River Road (between Port Lyden and Boonville)
  • Shibley Road
  • Lyons Falls Road

Town of Greig

  • River Road (off the Lyons Falls Road)
  • Bliss Road
  • Burdicks Crossing Road
  • Greig Road (between Burdicks Crossing and Sweeney Road)

Town of Lowville

  • Number Four Road
  • Ridge Road
  • Waters Road

Town of Turin

  • Milkhouse Road

Town of Corghan

  • State Route 126 (between State Route 410 and Swiss Road)

Motorists should not drive over any water covered roadways due to possible washout conditions under the water.
