Woman arrested after leaving child inside her vehicle

The child disclosed that his mother used an electrical chord and switch to punish him.
 
Watertown -- On Monday, September 12, 2012, the Jefferson County Child Protective Services was notified of a child left inside a vehicle for approximately 1/2 hour by his mother on Fort Drum.
 
CPS interviewed the 7 year old male child who had visible injuries. The child disclosed that his mother used an electrical chord and switch to punish him.  State Police Investigator Patrick Hathaway responded and arrested Brandi M. Rodriquez-Norton, 28, of Philadelphia, NY, who admitted to striking the child and causing the observed injuries.
 
Rodriquez-Norton was arrested for Assault 2nd and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was arraigned before Town Justice George Mead and committed to the Public Safety Building in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
