Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team’s bid for a national championship came up short on Sunday.

The No. 2 Orange rallied from a seven-goal deficit, but fell to No. 1 Maryland 15-12 in Towson, Md.

Alyssa Murray and Katie Webster both scored three goals for the Orange.

Beth Glaros paced the Terrapins with a game high five goals.

SU finished its season with a 21-3 record.

The Orange also set a school record for regular-season wins.
