Lowville (WTNY) -- A second Lewis County Legislator is now looking to take his vote back on this week's measure that saw the county purchase the Lewis Lanes bowling alley.
John Boyd joined fellow Democrat Paul Stanford on Wednesday in regretting his yes vote on the purchase and is now looking for another vote. The legislature voted 6-4 Monday to spend $1 million on purchasing the alleys. The decision has created discontent among some Lowville residents who are upset to see their only bowling alley shut down. Others are questioning the way the board of legislators went about the purchase. The plan is to turn the bowling alley into office space beginning next spring, when the alley is set to close.
Officials maintain the owners of Lewis Lanes approached them with the offer to sell.
The matter will likely come up at the next board meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
