Bitter cold air returns to NNY

Temperatures will keep dropping to near zero Monday night. Yes, we were colder last week, but the wind is going to be significantly greater.
(WSYR-TV) As you head out the door Monday morning, we'll have rain and temperatures in the mid to upper 30's. You would be well advised to dress for winter. An arctic cold front will sweep eastward this morning, changing rain to snow during the morning commute, and plunging temperatures to near 20 by tonight. As temperatures drop below freezing by Noon Monday, anything that's wet (including roads) will ice up quickly.

Temperatures will keep dropping to near zero Monday night. Yes, we were colder last week, but the wind is going to be significantly greater. Temperatures near zero, and west winds of 20 to 30 mph, will create wind chills of -20 to -30 by later Monday night and Tuesday morning. It will remain windy through the day Tuesday, with temperatures struggling to rise into the mid single digits.

The cold air will be around through Wednesday (although not quite as severe). Temperatures will moderate for the end of the week, with high temperatures approaching 40 by the weekend.
