Watertown (WTNY) -- Watertown City officials are planning on going to court to retrieve a piece of Court St. property that is falling into disrepair.
The building in question is the old Berow and Monroe store at 138-140 Court St. The city did have the property at one time, acquiring it due to back taxes. It was then sold back to the owner who promised to make changes. Those changes haven't happened. Now, the city is in the process of trying to get it back and figure out what to do with it.
The concern is that it will turn into more an eyesore, this as a few major projects underway could give a boost to the downtown area.
