Friends raise money for Fort Drum Family in need

In March, Jenna Hinman was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer after an emergency c-section to deliver her twin girls 10 weeks early

The community is rallying behind a military family at Fort Drum that is dealing with some very tough times.

More than 150-thousand-dollars has been raised for Jenna Hinman, who was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer after giving birth to twins in March. Thousands of dollars were raised for the Hinmans yesterday at the Black River Valley Club in Watertown, where a spaghetti dinner was held to help the family.

According to the "Prayers for Jenna" Facebook page, 26-year-old Jenna Hinman, the wife of Fort Drum Army Sgt. Brandon Hinman, is now battling pneumonia, which has weakened her greatly and worn her body down.

The page says Jenna is now on powerful medication to fight this infection.
