Greater Watertown North Country Chamber looking for a new home

On Monday The Chamber announced the building that is currently home to their 11 employee team will soon be for sale.
Watertown, NY The Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce will soon be looking for a bigger home. On Monday The Chamber  announced the building that is currently home to their 11 employee team will soon be for sale.
 
President and CEO, Lynn Pietroski, stated “today’s operations have simply outgrown our current location.” At the June 24th monthly board meeting, the Chamber’s Board of Directors unanimously voted, to place the current office space on the market. “it was an opportune time to make the next step in growing the Chamber and would be best done so in a location that can accommodate this”.
 
Chamber Board Officer and Building and Grounds Committee member, Mike Colello said, “Although the offices on Coffeen Street have served the Chamber well, it is now time to move forward and find a facility that provides the space and amenities the Chamber needs to continue to serve the membership by continuing to grow and improve existing programs, establish new and exciting ones for increased value to its members and provide premier events.”
 
The building was purchased in 2007 when the Chamber moved from Franklin Street in Watertown to its current location at 1241 Coffeen Street. The membership organization which host several premier networking events, the Watertown’s Farm and Craft Market, the Jefferson Leadership Institute, North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Program, Greater Watertown Service Corp., and the Small Business Assistance Program is continually looking for opportunities to expand their services, partner with organizations, and be “a one stop shop for businesses”. The Chamber has seen substantial growth over the past several years and with this presents an obstacle to accommodate all staff in the most efficient manner.
 
From an economic development stand point, the Chamber property presents a great opportunity for a developer who is looking for a prime location.  It is located in the hub of businesses, right off interstate 81 and across from the ever growing SUNY Jefferson Community College.
 
As the selling process develops, Ms. Pietroski indicated she will be working with the Chamber’s Building and Grounds Committee, which will explore the options available for the interim and/or long-term location for the Chamber.
 
“We would like to look at a location that can provide additional resources for our current and potential chamber members as well as the business community as a whole. This is an exciting and monumental moment for the Chamber, and I see only positive things on our horizon.” stated Ms. Pietroski.
