Lowville student arrested; wanted to shoot 'Specific Targets'

A sophomore at Lowville Academy was planning on carrying out a shooting at the school.

Lowville (WTNY) -- Police in the Village of Lowville say a sophomore at Lowville Academy was planning on carrying out a shooting at the school before he was arrested late last week.

The Watertown Daily Times reports that the unidentified 16 year old student had specific targets in mind at both the school and at the Lowville Walmart.

The student is currently in an undisclosed healthcare facility and will be facing charges.

Another student overheard the plot last week and told school officials.

There was beefed up security at the LACS campus Monday, the last day of regular classes at the high school.
