Not Guilty; Ft. Drum Soldier acquitted of Murder, Manslaughter and assault charges

Staff Sgt. Raheem Hollis has been found not guilty of charges of murder, manslaughter and assault connected to the death of four year old Michael Sanders

Watertown(WTNY)-A Ft. Drum soldier has been acquitted of charges that he murdered his step son in late 2012.

A court martial panel has found Staff Sgt. Raheem Hollis not guilty of charges of murder, manslaughter, assault and other counts connected to the death of four year old Michael Sanders.

The child was injured on post and taken to Samaritan Medical Center back on December 10, 2012, and later died. Hollis was charged with the death last summer.

Officials say Hollis will now be allowed to return to his unit.
