More information was released Thursday in connection to this week's gun incident at Indian River High School, including the name of the teacher who disarmed the student.
Science teacher Bob Kuba noticed the 15 year old taking the rifle out of the case in his classroom and quickly disarmed the teen without anyone getting hurt. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is crediting Kuba's quick actions in preventing a tragedy from occurring. Police also confirmed that the rifle was loaded, and that the unidentified student had a plan in place to cause harm to others. There's been no word of any charges in the case. Classes did go on Thursday at the high school. It's expected school officials will also be reviewing security procedures in the wake of the incident.
