A second Democrat announced Thursday that she will run for the 22nd Congressional Seat to replace Richard Hanna, who will retire this year.
Kim Meyers, a Binghamton native, announced she will enter the race for Hanna’s seat.
The 22nd Congressional District represents Chenango, Cortland, Madison, and Oneida counties, and parts of Broome, Herkimer, Oswego and Tioga counties.
Meyers served on the Vestal Central Schools District Board of Education for 18 years—eight of which served as president— and is currently serving as a Broome County Legislator.
The race for Hanna’s seat is already crowded— five Republicans and two Democrats are vying for the soon-to-be vacant seat.
