BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek sent fans a special “thank you” message Thursday evening to fans supporting him after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Last week, Trebek announced he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. Since then, Trebek says hundreds of thousands of people have sent him messages to support him through the battle.

“Even Watson, the IBM computer, sent me a ‘get well’ card,” Trebek told fans, saying he is trying to read every message.

Trebek adds, “I am thankful for the kind words, the prayers and the advice you have offered. And I am extremely touched by the warmth you’ve expressed in your comments to me. I’m a lucky guy.”

Despite being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, Trebek has vowed to keep fighting and keep hosting the show.
