BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- – The Bills have released Charles Clay after four seasons in Buffalo. The move saves the team $4.5 million on the salary cap.

The veteran tight end never performed up to the five-year, $38 million contract he signed as a free agent in 2015 offseason.

Clay finished last season with just 21 catches for 184 yards and did not have a touchdown.

The Bills will likely add a tight end in free agency or the draft.
