Fort Drum soldier charged with aggravated DWI


A Fort Drum soldier was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and with leaving the scene of an accident over the weekend.

Police pulled over 23-year-old Daniel Cuartas-Acevedo at about 3 a.m. on Public Square in Watertown.

Cuartas-Acevedo is said to have had a blood-alcohol level of .20, well above the .08 threshold.

He was released to military custody and is due to appear back in City Court next month.
