Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Northern New York at Samaritan Medical Center will be hosting the 9th Annual River Rat Triathlon (RRT) scheduled for Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, New York.
NEW THIS YEAR – a Duathlon! Participants can now enjoy this exciting day of racing with a 750-meter swim (Triathlon) or 1.86 mile run (Duathlon), a 12 mile bike ride along scenic country roads, and a 3 mile run through this quintessential river village. Athletes can compete as an individual or as part of a team. Registration is open on LightboxReg.com.
Online registration deadline is Saturday, August 11, 2018. Registration fees are $60 for an Individual and $50 per person for a Team (2 or 3 person). The first 100 pre-registered participants will receive a swag bag and race t-shirt. Race day registration will be available on Sunday, August 12th from 7:00 to 8:00 am at the Antique Boat Museum, Clayton.
Participants and spectators can find all the information they need at the event’s Facebook page – Children’s Miracle Network of NNY and RRT website – www.riverrattri.org. The website offers a complete package of information for the well-known community event including registration links, race course maps, event schedules, rules, course distances, and driving directions.
Participants must be at least 16 years of age to compete in the Triathlon; 14 years of age to compete in the Duathlon. Any participant under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign a 2018 River Rat Triathlon Waiver Form. If registering the day of the event, parents will need to be present at Race Day Registration.
The event would not be possible without the continued support of our many sponsors to include Purcell Construction Corporation and Key Bank, our Presenting Sponsors.
Special thanks are extended to the Town of Clayton and the many dedicated volunteers who help keep everyone safe and the event running smoothly each year. Individuals interested in volunteering at this year’s RRT can contact Emily Soderquist at (315) 779-5230 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
100 % of event proceeds benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in their efforts to improve pediatric healthcare in the tri-county region. Last year, with funds raised from the RRT, CMN purchased two LED phototherapy units for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatric dental equipment for Surgical Services. In addition, CMN provided financial assistance to more than 25 local families with a child facing a medical crisis for travel expenses and other out-of-pocket medical costs – a program unique to Samaritan.
