A sixth individual has declared their candidacy for an open seat on the Watertown City Council. Watertown City Fire Captain Todd DeMar has begun collecting signatures in a bid to get himself on the ballot this fall. DeMar has been with the fire department for the past 18 years and says he is fed up with the direction city government is taking. DeMar becomes the sixth individual who has announced their intention to run. The others are Cody Horbacz, Ryan Henry-Wilkinson, Doug Osbourne, Mark Walczyk, and Cliff Olney. Petitions for candidates are due to the Board of Elections on July 9. If more than four candidates qualify for the ballot, a September primary would be needed to shrink the field down to four.
