Another plea deal reached in 2015 death of Watertown man

There has been another plea deal reached in connection with a stabbing death of a Watertown man.

Twenty-one-year-old Devonte Bumpars pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in Jefferson County Court.

Bumpars of New York City was initially indicted on murder and robbery charges, along with two others who were involved in the death of Nichalas VanZelf.

VanZelf was found stabbed to death in his Winslow Street apartment in December of 2015.

Last week, 19-year-old Freddie “DeVon” Southerland pleaded to second-degree murder and second-degree assault.

While 19-year-old Amanda Camardo of Cape Vincent is due back in court at a later date.
