Art stolen by the Nazis during the Holocaust may be returned soon.

Yesterday, Senator Chuck Schumer of New York announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously passed the Holocaust Expropriated Art Recovery Act or HEAR Act, and now the bill is on its way to the Senate floor.

The HEAR Act will help facilitate the return of artwork lost to the Nazis and help ensure that American law encourages the resolution of claims on Nazi-confiscated art.

Schumer says this is a drop of justice in an ocean of injustice but it’s giving these families the opportunity to have their day in court.
