Brewery back on Watertown City Council agenda

Local News

A proposed brewery in the city of Watertown will be on the agenda for Council members this evening.

According to the Watertown Daily Times, the council is expected to discuss the brewery during an executive session.

It was first proposed by Jake Johnson and Nancy Henry late last year.

The idea is for Johnson to purchase property off VanDuzee Street where a fire destroyed several warehouses in 2015.

Johnson originally offered the city $100,000 for the land but was denied.

The Times reports Johnson, who owns the only standing warehouse left in that section, might now be looking to buy a smaller amount of the nearly ten-acre lot.
