According to the Watertown Daily Times, every manager in the city of Watertown’s staff received a pay raise expect for the two employees of the fire department.

Fire Chief Dale Herman and Deputy Chief Russell Randall didn’t get the two-percent bump in salary via the latest budget.

City Manager Sharon Addison would only tell the Times that the situation was a “personell matter.”

The move comes as the city and the fire department have been negotiating a new contract for nearly three years.

And just two weeks ago, the two sides were in Appellate Court arguing about the city’s decision to demote eight fire captains last summer. A decision on that matter is expected by June 16.
