City of Watertown officials warn of tough budget ahead

Local News

With expenses rising, preparing the upcoming budget is proving to be a difficult one for officials in the city of Watertown.

The City Comptroller told lawmakers this week that for the fifth year in a row, sales tax revenue is down.

The hydroelectric site, typically a boost on a yearly basis, is also set to decrease by about $175,000 according to the Watertown Daily Times.

While still piecing together the budget proposal, there is a tentative deadline of April for it to be presented to lawmakers.
