Company Cutting Fort Drum Employees

A company which makes aviation systems for military aircraft is cutting back on its civilian workforce at Fort Drum.

7 News reports that L3 Technologies announced it will permanently lay off approximately 44 employees beginning Friday and continuing through the end of August.

Union representatives stated that three people are expected to be laid off Friday and other workers are being sent to Mississippi to complete other L3 jobs with about 20 union employees expected to lose their jobs March 24.

L3 Technologies mainly repairs and installs systems for UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, along with Chinooks and Apaches.
