Prior to voting in favor of the controversial measure, North Country congresswoman Elise Stefanik expressed tentative support for President Donald Trump’s proposal to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Stefanik released a statement saying that the American Health Care Act isn’t perfect, butstill calling it an “important step in reforming our broken healthcare system.”

Previously, the Congresswoman refused to publicly give her throughts on the healthcare reform.

The bill passed in the House, 217-213, but is expected to face more scrutiny in the Senate.
