Firefighters save apartment complex

Local News

Quick work by firefighters allowed them to save an apartment complex in Potsdam on Wednesday.

Fire crews were called to housing on Rt 56 just after 12:30 pm.

Everyone inside was able to make it out safely.

The building owner was able to get the only tenant in the building at the time out after alerting him to the fire.

The same building owner was soldering pipe in the basement just before the fire began, and that is suspected to be the cause.

The home sustained minor damage.
