The former principal owner of the Jreck Subs franchise could be heading to prison for a couple of decades or more.
The Watertown Daily Times reports that federal prosecutors are seeking a “substantial term of incarceration” for Christopher Swartz.
Swartz was found guilty of scheming potentially as much as $24 million from multiple investors over a period of at least ten years. After being found guilty in federal court earlier this year, he is next due to be sentenced in July.
The federal government has appointed Peter Schmidt, an owner of several Jreck locations, as an overseer of the franchise until it is officially sold.
Swartz was also arrested after attempting to hide his assets before going to prison.
